These May-born weanlings were reared on pasture.
We raise sheep in south-central Michigan that are highly selected for efficient lamb production. Our farm is predominantly pasture-based, utilizing sustainable rotational grazing management. Our flock is comprised of Dorset, Polypay, Ille-de-France, and Finn composite genetics which have been highly selected for prolificacy, maternal ability, milk production, growth, muscling, and ability to breed out of season as well as on an accelerated lambing schedule. We would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Richard Ehrhardt for the foundation stock of our flock. Our ewes average 150 lbs at maturity and a 220% lamb crop. We maintain strict biosecurity practices including maintaining a flock free from Ovine Progressive Pnemonia (OPP), Caseous Lymphadenitis (CL), and footrot.
